The World Bank has agreed to lend 33 1.336 billion to Pakistan. This loan strengthens the country’s foreign currency reserves in the face of a cash crisis and also contributes to social security programs.
According to ‘The Dawn’, six project contracts with a total of 33 1.336 billion loans were signed on Friday. It also includes a grant of $ 128 million. The loan will help the government of Pakistan in the areas of social protection, disaster and climate risk management, infrastructure improvement, agriculture, food security, human capital development and operations.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the Government of Pakistan by the Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Noor Ahmed. At the same time, representatives of the provincial governments of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan signed the respective agreements online. World Bank Country Director Nazi Nehasin signed the agreement on behalf of the organization.
