India captain Virat Kohli has been under constant criticism after losing the World Test Championship title against New Zealand. This was the third consecutive ICC tournament that the Virat-led Team India defeated. Many fans are demanding that he be removed from the captaincy. However, Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has stood with Virat in the matter and believes that Virat should continue as India’s captain despite the defeat in the WTC final.
Soon Yuvraj Singh will be seen hitting boundaries and sixes on the field, very close to joining the team
Akmal, who supported Virat on his YouTube channel, said: “Virat Kohli is a great player and a great leader. They are very aggressive and emotional. If any player has the opportunity to take over the captaincy of India, he will always lead the team. It started with Sourav Ganguly and then Rahul Dravid and M.S. Dhoni continued as captain.
Sunil Gavaskar supported Cheteshwar Pujara after a flap show in the WTC final.
He said, ‘It is natural for many to complain that India won no ICC award under the leadership of Virat, but they won almost everything except that. Under his leadership, India has many series to its name. He’s a little unlucky, but I have no doubt about his leadership. He is a great leader and match-winning player.
