Junaid regretted that despite consistently performing well, he was not allowed to play much longer.

He said, ‘I was part of the national team in all three formats. I was asking for a break but I could not rest. Then I was ignored because of the time and the likes and dislikes of relationships with me. I was performing but I wasn’t given the right opportunities. Junaid said he was dropped from the 2019 World Cup squad when he was initially named in the squad, despite being the second most successful bowler after Hasan Ali in the Champions Trophy 2017.
