Chasing a target of 370 for victory, South Africa started the day with a score of 129 for one wicket and strengthened their place by scoring 219 for three wickets. Hasan picked up two wickets in the opening session of the day. He threw out Sunday night batsman Resi van der Dusen (48) and broke the 94-run partnership for the second wicket with Markram. They were then made by experienced Faf Duplessis (05) LBW. Duplessis managed only 55 runs in four Test innings of the tour. Shahin Afridi (4/51) bowled low-order batsmen while Yasir Shah bowled Vinh Mulder (20) and ensured the team’s victory.

Markram completed his first century outside South Africa by scoring Fawad Alam’s last delivery before mid-off. The 26-year-old struck 13 fours and three sixes in his five-hour innings. Earlier, Pakistan scored 272 runs in the first innings and then bowled out South Africa for 201 before being bowled out for 71. Pakistan’s second innings ended in 298 runs. Following this win, Pakistan’s team came in fifth in the ICC Test rankings, which is their best ranking since 2017. South Africa have fallen to sixth place.
