PM Garib Kalyan’s extended deadline, 5kg of free foodgrains available till Diwali

Due to the second wave of coronavirus, the central government has decided to extend Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Project (PMGKAY) to Diwali. PM Modi made the announcement today on 7th June. Addressing the nation on the COVID-19 pandemic, Modi said that by November, more than 80 million Indians will have access to a certain amount of free foodgrains every month. Let’s just say that this plan has been extended to Diwali and Hathat since last year.

How to apply
If you also want to take advantage of this scheme of government, you must first open your account with any bank. To take advantage of the PM Garib Kalyan scheme, it is necessary to fill out a form. Through this form, the government will know how much property you have. After this, if you live in a village you have to go to the village panchayat and register your name. If you live in the city, you need to go to the municipality and connect.

Benefits are available under the PMGKY scheme
Under this scheme, the poorest of the people can take free food grains without any ration card. In this scheme, a family has the option of giving 5 kg of wheat or rice and 1 kg of rice. This free 5kg meal is in addition to the quota of foodgrains available in the ration card.

Rating is also available through Aadhaar without a ration card
You do not need a ration card to take food grains under PMJKY. Instead, the needy get rations from Aadhaar alone. But you have to register for this project through your Aadhaar card. They will be given a slip after registration. By showing what one gets free food grains.

2.6 crore beneficiaries took advantage of the scheme in June
Let me tell you, Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey told a press conference on June 3 that around 1.3 lakh tonnes of wheat and rice have been distributed to 2.6 crore beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna scheme.
