PM Modi’s photo, e-Gita and 19 satellites; ISRO debuted in 2021 with a successful launch

Indian Space Agency launches ISAR 2021, sending 19 satellites together, including Amazonia-1 India’s PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle), carrying C-51, Brazil’s Amazonia-1 and 18 other satellites, flew from Sriharikota Space Station on Sunday. This is the first mission of the ISRO year. The highlight of this campaign is that Modi’s image with satellites has gone into space.

After completing the 26-hour countdown, the PSLV-C-51 flew from the Satish Dhawan space station’s first launch pad, about 100 km from Chennai, at around 10.24 am. The primary satellite, Amazonia-1, is likely to be placed into orbit 18 minutes after launch, while the remaining 18 satellites will be sent into orbit within the next two hours.

These satellites include Chennai’s Space Kidz India (SKI) satellite. The image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is engraved on the spacecraft. The SKI expressed solidarity and gratitude for the Prime Minister’s self-reliance initiative and space privatization. Moreover, through these satellites, SKI is sending the Bhagavad Gita to the SKI SD (Secure Digital) card in space.

After the launch, ISRO chief K. Sivan described the mission as a success. He said, ‘I’m very pleased to announce that PSLV C51 has successfully launched Amazon-1 in its exact orbit. India and ISRO are proud, honored and delighted to launch the first satellite designed and operated by Brazil in this campaign. My heartfelt congratulations on this achievement. ‘

In fact, Amazonia-1, which weighs 637 kg, is Brazil’s first satellite launched from India. It is an optical terrestrial satellite of the National Space Research Organization (INPI). With regard to Amazonia-1, ISRO says the satellite will provide remote sensing data to users to monitor deforestation in the Amazon region and to analyze the diversity of agriculture in the Brazilian region and further strengthen existing infrastructures. The launch will be broadcast live on ISRO’s website, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter channels.
