Rahul Dravid has re-applied for the post of NCA Cricket chief

Former India captain Rahul Dravid has applied for the post of National Cricket Academy (NCA) cricket chief. This will put an end to speculation about the replacement of head coach Ravishastri in the senior national team after the T20 World Cup in November. The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has invited applications after Dravid’s two-year tenure. According to the new constitution there is no extension in the agreement and the selection process has been started anew.

The BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity, “Yes, Rahul has re-applied for the post of cricket chief. You don’t have to be a genius to understand that the NCA’s great job is to change their face. It has now become a true center of excellence. Name has not applied for this post.

It is understood that the BCCI has decided to extend the date of filing of applications for a few days to get enough time for interested candidates to apply. “BCCI officials have decided to extend the deadline of a few days from August 15,” a source said. Everyone knows that when Rahul is in the race, applying for the post does not benefit much. This is just a formality but to be fair, if someone thinks he / she wants to make a claim, there are still a few days left.

After his tour of Sri Lanka, Dravid was skeptical about his full-time role with the Indian team. However, his application makes it clear that he wants to help the national cricket team by working with young cricketers. Meanwhile, Varun Chakraborty and Kamlesh Nagarakoti, who are battling injuries, have once again reached the NCA. Shubhaman Gill is also in the NCA. The trio of Kolkata Knight Riders will undergo rehabilitation and fitness tests based on whether they will be able to play in the Indian Premier League or not.

“Yes, Chakraborty and Nagarkoti are doing their rehabilitation and fitness sessions at the NCA. I hope they go to the UAE with the KKR team after the NCA gives them a fitness certificate. Gill is still training here.
