Former India captain Rahul Dravid has applied for the post of National Cricket Academy (NCA) cricket chief. This will put an end to speculation about the replacement of head coach Ravishastri in the senior national team after the T20 World Cup in November. The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has invited applications after Dravid’s two-year tenure. According to the new constitution there is no extension in the agreement and the selection process has been started anew.
The BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity, “Yes, Rahul has re-applied for the post of cricket chief. You don’t have to be a genius to understand that the NCA’s great job is to change their face. It has now become a true center of excellence. Name has not applied for this post.

It is understood that the BCCI has decided to extend the date of filing of applications for a few days to get enough time for interested candidates to apply. “BCCI officials have decided to extend the deadline of a few days from August 15,” a source said.
