Young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who captained the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021, recalled the batting of former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who said he always liked hitting sixes. In his childhood, when he was playing cricket, his shots went everywhere. Pant said, “When you hit a six, it usually takes a lot of energy, but when you hit the UV Paji batting and the sixes, they were hitting sixes without any effort and strength. It was just a matter of time.” He was so happy to see the planting sixes and felt that something like this could happen and I would look the same within myself. I think I can hit sixes like Yuvraj.
Sachin, Ganguly and Laxman would not have passed Yo-Yo test
Tarak Sinha, Rishabh Pant’s coach at Sonet Cricket Academy, said, “Like Yuvraj, Pant has also found a way to seamlessly cross the boundaries of the ball, which is very good.” He once did something similar by sending the ball out of the ground at the sonnet cricket ground. He has shown this aspect of his game on several occasions, but it is very special that Royal Challengers scored 84 runs in 48 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2018, in which he was introduced as Yuvraj Singh.
Sinha said, ‘Pant has always been a strong batsman and now his strength has increased and he has started hitting long sixes. This is the fear that every batsman has to put on bowlers and Pant has done so. It is noteworthy that Pant’s limited over cricket graph has improved significantly, but his good performance in the Test has benefited him from a long central contract with BCCI.
IPL 2021: Harbhajan Singh gives critics an appropriate answer, – I don’t need to prove anything
Pant said, ‘When I started my career as a young batsman, Delhi gave me a chance. This is important for the player who gave his first breakthrough, so I will always remember this, because letting me play the game at 19 is not an easy decision. There is no shortage of talented players, especially in formats like IPL, so we should thank them if you have any chance.
The 23-year-old Pant said, ‘I am always grateful for the trust the people of Delhi have expressed towards me. This is good for the player, it boosts his confidence. The confidence of the team management in Delhi shows the result gradually. When they place you as a family, the impact is reflected in performance. It makes a connection that really helps us during the game. ‘
