Speaking to reporters at Umargam in Valsad district of south Gujarat, state forest and tribal affairs minister Raman Patkar said the BJP’s victory in the Bengal elections would be favorable for Gujarat’s election. BJP is winning elections everywhere, ”he said.
“While the BJP is winning from all sides, the party’s parliamentary council and the state and national leadership understand that it is better to hold elections in Gujarat in this favorable environment,” he said. If the BJP wins in West Bengal, Gujarat may declare its election in a short time, Patkar said.
Patkar’s statement comes after the BJP won the local bodies elections in the state recently. The party won 90 percent of the seats in local bodies elections. The saffron party won 196 seats in all six municipalities, 75 out of 81 municipalities, all 31 district panchayats and 236 taluka panchayats.
