Indian star archer Deepika Kumari has made history at the Archery World Cup in Paris. Deepika won gold medals in individual, women’s doubles and mixed doubles and thus earned a gold hat trick. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar tweeted a heartfelt tribute to Deepika Kumari for her amazing performance. Deepika won gold in mixed doubles with husband Atanu Das on Sunday. This is the pair of Atanu and Deepika who achieved this feat. Tendulkar wrote on Twitter that Deepika is the kind of sport that showed in Paris and understands what the world will look like at the Olympic Games.

Proud of your accomplishments. I wish you all the best for the Tokyo Olympics. Deepika’s husband Atanu said after the victory, ‘We both were made for each other, which is why I think we are married. We not only inspire each other but also encourage each other and win together. In a repeat individual contest, Deepika defeated Russian Elena Osipova 6-0 and won the gold medal.

Deepika won the first set 29-27, the second set went 29-28 to lead 4-0 and in the third set Deepika won 28-27. Deepika led India to a 5-1 win over Mexico in the women’s team. At the mixed doubles, Atanu and Deepika Holland won by beating Jeff Van Denberg and Gabby Schlosser.
