Santan Saptami 2020: Learn how fast is kept for the protection and progress of children

On the seventh day of the bright half of the month of Bhadrapad, the child’s saptami is observed. The festival of progeny Saptami is being celebrated for two days this year on 24 August and 25 August. Due to the vote of thanks, this fast is being observed on Tuesday, 25 August. On this day, one or both of the children observe fast on Saptami. This fast is observed for the attainment of children, happiness and prosperity of children. On this day, with the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, children get happiness.

How to keep the fast of child Saptami?

On this day, wake up early in the morning and take bath and wear clean clothes, after this, worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and take a vow. Being clean, you will also have to prepare prasad with purity. For this, prepare 7 puras of kheer-puri and jaggery or 7 sweet pooris.

How to worship

You should do this puja by noon. For worship, decorate the outpost by placing an idol of Shiva-Parvati on the earth and install the urn with coconut leaves. After this, light a lamp and keep turmeric, kunkum, rice, camphor, flowers, kalwa etc. other ingredients in the Aarti plate. Praying for the protection and advancement of children, offer Kalava to Lord Shiva.

After offering puja, offer incense, deep nevaidya and read or listen to the story of child Saptami. Worship the book of fiction in worship. Finally, to open the fast, eat sweet seven puris or puas offered in worship and open your fast.
