The Indian cricket team will visit Sri Lanka next month to play a limited over format series. Team India will play three ODIs and several T20 internationals on this tour. India was announced as the 20-man squad for the Sri Lanka tour, with captain Shikhar Dhawan Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been made deputy. All the famous cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jaspreet Bumrah have traveled to England, where India must play the final of the World Test Championships and then play a five-Test series against England. Six of the 20 players were not included in the squad, of which five were inducted into the Indian team for the first time.

In the wake of stellar performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Nitish Rana, Devadut Padikkal, Rituraj Gayakwad, Krishnappa Gautam, Varun Chakravarthy and Chetan Zakaria have never played for Team India. Team India will play three one-day internationals on July 13, 16 and 18, followed by three T20 internationals on July 21, 23 and 25. Gautam, Padikkal and Gaekwad have made an impact in the last two IPL innings, but Nitish Rana has been in good form over the years. Chetan Zakaria’s name is a bit shocking. Zakaria has made quite an impact with his bowling in IPL 2021.
