The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials to consider the application of the Bollywood actor to regularize the illegal construction of Sonu Sood’s residence in the Juhu area of Mumbai. Along with this, the Supreme Court dismissed the application filed by the Supreme Court dismissing the Bombay High Court order dismissing the case relating to illegal construction at his residence.
The Supreme Court, which allowed the application to be withdrawn, has verbally stated that no punitive measures should be taken against Sood until the body authorities make a decision on the application for regularization. Mukul Rohatgi, Senior Advocate of Justice AS Bopanna and Justice V Ramasubramanian, appearing for the Chief Justice of SAUD, Justice AS Bopanna and Justice V Ramasubramanian, informed that they would withdraw their application from the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has stated orally that no punitive action will be taken against Sood until the body authorities make a decision on the application for regularization. The court said in its order, “We instruct the relevant authorities to consider this application on the basis of merits and defects in law.” Accordingly, special leave applications and civil suits will be dismissed upon return.
