Both players suffer from back injuries. Both will be sent to rehab for recovery. Bangladesh has also announced the 21-member preliminary squad for the series starting May 23. The matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz on Sunday, “Rubel and Mahmood have been eliminated from the series against Sri Lanka, because we do not want to take players who have any doubts about fitness.” Debashish Chaudhary, BCB’s chief physician, told Cricbuzz, “Rubel is injured. Sachin Tendulkar said cricket was the best of his life

When we checked him out there was no problem but Rubel said he had some problems, so we decided that he would be sent to rehab. That said, it’s not entirely correct. But he has to manage it and play it. If the problem happens to an unbearable extent, we sit with it and prepare ahead. Ejections should help. Operation is our last choice.

Debashish Chaudhary said Hassan was suffering from back pain due to soft tissues in his back. The problem has come up in the series against New Zealand. Mohammed Saifuddin and Mossadeq Hussain are fully fit and ready to play the series against Sri Lanka. It remains to be seen whether he will be included in the 15-man squad. He informed the teen that his official Kovid19 test began May 15. There will be one more test today and then the players will enter the hotel after these results. Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman are still awaiting government approval.

This is why India will have a strong performance against the WTC Final and England, Mohammed Shami said
