Supreme Court Opinion on Dowry Harassment – Merciful Man Not Worthy Of Mercy

A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of India SA Bobde has rejected the anticipatory bail of her husband, who is accused of dowry torture, saying that merciless men are not entitled to mercy.

The opinion of the Supreme Court is also important as the husband’s case is strong in this case and he is expected to get bail. However, the CJI-led bench has fully supported the woman’s allegations in the case.

According to Times of India news, the husband claimed that his wife sent her nude photos to another man while he was living apart. In response to a complaint from the police, his wife had alleged dowry harassment.

Her husband’s lawyer said that while the woman was living separately from her husband, she sent hundreds of nude photos with the other man at the time. After this, he was also accused of dowry harassment, but did not take a dowry or even want a dowry. Prosecutors say the woman’s allegations are on one side.

The Supreme Court rejected the husband’s anticipatory bail application, saying, “If a woman shares nude photos with someone else, you can vilify them but you cannot be cruel with them.”
