Tamim Iqbal has now scored 14011 runs in all three formats. In the first ODI against Sri Lanka, he scored 52 off 70 balls with 6 fours and a six. Former Sri Lankan batsman Sanath Jayasuriya holds the record for most runs as opener with 19298 runs. Sachin Tendulkar (15,335) and Virender Sehwag (16119) are also included in the list. Chris Gayle is second after Jayasuriya and has scored 18834 runs so far.

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first, but the team did not start well and in the second over, Litton Das fell to Chamira without opening the account.
