Bajaj Auto recently re-opened the booking of its legendary electric scooter Bajaj Chetak. But within 48 hours of booking, the company again stopped its booking. The company claims that the scooter has received good response from customers and bookings have been halted due to high demand.

According to information received by the company, the scooter’s booking will be resumed in the near future, depending on supply conditions. Commenting on customer feedback, Bajaj Auto Ltd Executive Director Rakesh Sharma said, “We are very happy to see the positive feedback we have received after resuming bookings for Chetak Electric Scooters in Pune and Bangalore.”

Scooters are expensive: Today, the company has increased the price of its Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. The price of this scooter has been fully increased by Rs 27,000. Now, after this hike, the price of this scooter has gone up to Rs 1,42,620 (ex-showroom, Pune). When it raised its price for the second time this year, the company raised about Rs 5,000 in early March.

This scooter uses a 3 kWh capacity battery pack and a 4.08 kW electric motor. The scooter comes with two different driving modes, including Sport and Eco modes. The scooter delivers a maximum range of up to 95kmph in Eco Mode and can be up to 85kmph in Sport Mode. The scooter battery takes about 5 hours to fully charge and can be charged up to 25 percent in just 1 hour with the help of a quick charging system.
