Nowadays fake messaging on WhatsApp. In this fake message, the Government of India is offering free internet service to over 100 million users, so that the online education of children is not affected. As soon as this fake message went viral, the PIB (press information bureau) had to come into effect. PIB tweeted to alert users of this fake WhatsApp message. The government of India has not launched any kind of free internet project, PIB said in a tweet.

Geo, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea are targeted at users
In a fake message, the government has been offering free internet for children’s online education for three months. According to this fake message, the government’s scheme is only available to Airtel, Geo and Vodafone-Idea subscribers. In the message, users are being asked to take advantage of this offer as it is 29 June 2021.
Playing through a fake website
Free internet greed is expensive for you. To avoid this, do not click the link incorrectly in this fake WhatsApp message. Fraudsters have cleverly created a fake website to deceive users. As soon as the user clicks on a link in the WhatsApp message, the user is redirected to this fake website. Fraudsters have even used Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image to make the website and free internet project look real.

The mobile number must be entered to select the project
Users are asked to choose their network operator (Geo, Airtel or Voda) on the website after clicking on the link provided in the fake message for three months of free internet. After selecting the network, the user is asked to select the mobile number, their state and the Internet plan.
The ad has to be shared with 10 people on WhatsApp
After entering all the details, the banner of Mukesh Ambani will appear on the website. To get a free Internet offer, the website asks you to share this geo ad with WhatsApp with up to 10 people. After this, the user will be taken to another page to confirm the registration. When you click on the Registration Registration link, you will see a download link of the fake software that may be malware or virus.

By using fake messages and fake websites as weapons, fraudsters can steal data by installing software that contains dangerous malware or viruses on users’ devices. In such a situation, it is best for you to be aware of such fake WhatsApp messages and if someone forwarded such a message to you, advise them to beware of this fraud.
