Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Monday indirectly targeted the Center, alleging that the BJP’s policies or leaders are speaking out against the central agencies’ action. His statement comes at a time when Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had summoned his wife on December 29 in a money laundering case a day earlier.
NCP senior leader Deshmukh told reporters that the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has never been used for political purposes in Maharashtra.
“BJP leaders or those who speak out against their policies are facing ED or CBI,” he said. As far as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is concerned, we have decided that the agency should seek permission from the state government before conducting any investigation in Maharashtra.
