The trend in the stock market continued for the second consecutive day on Friday. Over the two days, the total investment of the investors was Rs 3,48,431.23 crore. On Friday, the Sensex crossed the 55,000 mark for the first time. The BSE 30-share Sensex rose 593.31 points, or 1.08 per cent, to 55,437.29 points. This is its new record. In the day’s trading, the Sensex rose by 643.81 points to reach its all-time high of 55,487.79.
On Thursday, the Sensex rose 318.05 points, or 0.58 percent. The market capitalization of BSE listed companies rose by Rs 3,48,431.23 crore in the stock market to Rs 2,40,23,280.14 crore in two days. This is its all-time high. VK Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist at Geojit Financial Services, said, “Today, the best part of the stock market rally is the rally led by high-quality stocks like IT, Financial and Telecom. There are L&T, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Auto and HDFC Bank.
