The central government aims to manufacture modern silos to store wheat in four years. At the same time, the government is also working on a pilot project to procure rice. So in just a few years, the number of food spoilage during storage can be drastically reduced. Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey says the government will soon launch a storage modernization project. The government is aiming to collect wheat in modern silos by 2024-25. In addition, open warehouses have been dismantled to reduce the number of food spoilage.
The capacity of the warehouse has increased by 20 per cent
