The village is better than Bengaluru – a crop on a fallen 4,600-acre farm

Chamarajanagar: During the Corona Lockdown, many people from urban areas have returned to their hometowns and made their living by farming. Similarly, the crop is grown on more than 4 thousand acres of land in the district.

It is common for people to move from villages to towns seeking employment. Similarly, thousands of families from Chamarajanagar district migrated to urban areas including Bangalore and Mysore and lived there. Corona, however, landed the job. Hundreds of people have lost their jobs and joined their hometowns.

Agriculture is the hand of those who are struggling to come to their hometown and live. The affected lands have come to life. In the Chamarajanagar district, 4,600 acres of crops have been planted.

We are ready to give back to the people who come back to agriculture from the department. Chandrakala, joint director of the Chamarajanagar Agriculture Department, said agriculture is better than Bangalore and remove the golden crop.

Prakash couple of Nanjanadevanpur is one of the thousands of people from the town. He worked at Garments Factory, Bangalore. But he was returning to the village when the lockdown was announced. He stayed in the city without being able to go again. The couple eventually drilled, plowed, and farmed on a four-acre plot of land for a living.

Tomato, banana, Mangalore cilantro, pepper and so on. The couple is already enjoying a good life in farming, with the tomato and Mangalore crops growing well. Farming on our farm is better than working under someone else’s hand in Bangalore. “We are relieved,” the couple said.

Hundreds of families who have lost their jobs as a result of the lockdown and return to their hometowns from urban areas are facing agriculture. By doing this they are able to find self-reliance
