The West Indies Cricket Board has announced a central contract for players, with room for these new players

Cricket West Indies announced a central contract for the West Indies men’s team for 2021-22 on Wednesday. The central contract included 18 players. This central agreement will last from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. In the central contract, Enkruma Bonner, Joshua Da Silva, Akeel Hossein and Kyle Myers have been selected for the first time.

West Indies new Test captains Cog Brathwaite and Darren Bravo have accepted a central contract for the red ball and white ball. West Indies captain Roger Harper said the central contract of 2021-22 retained 18 players, 4 fewer than last year. He said Jason Holder was the only player to retain an all-format contract because of his outstanding performances in Test and T20 internationals.

Due to a strong showing during the last tour, many new players have been given a central contract in the form of a red ball, he said. Many players were excluded because they did not meet the minimum requirements.
