Thomas Bock was elected president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for a four-year term on Wednesday and will be looking at the Tokyo Games this year. The German lawyers were unanimously elected and won 93–1.
Four members abstain from voting. At an online meeting of IOC members, Buck said, “My sincere thanks for this trust and confidence.” Bock said Tokyo is a well-prepared city for the Olympics.

He reiterated that the games will begin on July 23, though restrictions were imposed during the Kovid-19 pandemic. The Olympic Games were postponed for a year due to Kovid-19 and there are still concerns about his event.
