TRP scandal: Bombay High Court granted bail to former Bark CEO Partha Dasgupta

Partha Dasgupta, former CEO of Broadcast Audience Research Board accused of TRP scam, gets a big fix. Bombay High Court has granted bail to Partha Dasgupta in the TRP scam case. Dasgupta was arrested by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch on December 24 last year in a TRP rigging case and has been in jail ever since.

According to news agency ANI, former Bark CEO Partha Dasgupta has been granted bail of Rs 2 lakh. They must submit their passports to the court and attend the crime branch every 6 months.

Earlier, in January, Partha Dasgupta’s bail application was rejected by a local court in Mumbai, who later approached the Bombay High Court. During the hearing of the bail application, the Mumbai court said the scam had played a major role. Mumbai Police have told the court that Republic TV editor Arnab Goswami Dasgupta has bribed ‘millions of rupees’ to increase the number of viewers of the news channel.

At the same time, Partha Dasgupta was admitted to the ICU of JJ Hospital in central Mumbai last month. Dasgupta, who suffers from diabetes, was taken to Taloja Central Prison in Navi Mumbai on Saturday morning. Dasgupta’s blood sugar level rose at midnight.
