Twitter to label fake posts related to corona vaccine

US microblogging and social networking company Twitter identifies and labels ‘confusing’ posts about the corona virus vaccine from Tuesday.

The company said in a statement, “As the distribution of the Kovid-19 vaccine continues to expand, people will be on Twitter to discuss the latest and get the latest official public health information.” In December, we shared updates on our work on the safety of public speaking for Kovid-19.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to remove the most harmful information about Kovid-19 from Twitter, we are beginning to label tweets containing misleading information about the coronavirus vaccine,” the statement said.

Since launching its Kovid-19 guidance, the company said it has removed more than 8,400 tweets and queried over 1.15 crore accounts worldwide. The company also said, “We are also introducing a strike system that will decide when to take action. We believe that the strike system helps inform the public about our policies and reduces the spread of harmful and misleading information on Twitter.”
