Bellary: The District Council has taken several measures to avoid the use of fake tourist guides in Hampi, Bellary and will soon issue uniforms and identity cards to the tourist guides.

Officials in Sabe’s Deci have had talks with tourist guides a few days back, demanding that many tour guides take action at the meeting due to the prevalence of fake guides.

The District Council has taken steps to train the tour guides, provide uniforms and issue ID cards.

The number of tourists coming to Hampi is increasing as the days pass. Officials say there are now 2,000 tourists visiting the country.

The ID card, training and uniforms for tour guides will be launched soon. Officials from the Hampi World Heritage Area Management Authority (HWHAMA) said the tour guides will be given uniforms once the technical work is completed.

Uniforms, ID cards as well as books are issued to tour guides. These book guides help to give you more information about Hampi if you are taking tourists to Hampi. Not only Hampi, there are also plans to distribute uniforms to guides at other tourist destinations in the state. He said that this would avoid the risk of fake guides.
