UP: Recruitment process begins for 1894 posts in junior high schools

The recruitment process for 1894 posts in the state’s 3049 unaided junior high schools has begun. Special Secretary RV Singh has directed the Inspector General of Examinations, Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, to conduct the recruitment test shortly by sending a guideline on Monday for the appointment of 390 posts of Principals and 1504 Assistant Teachers. The government has clarified the cutoff position in the junior high school recruitment guideline after the coefficient controversy in the 69000 recruitment. The coefficient of written examination for the recruitment of 1894 posts is 65 for general candidates and 60% for all reserved category candidates. The written examination of principals and assistant teachers will be conducted separately.

The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is a high level test for both recruitment. The Assistant Teachers Exam is 2.30 hours in which 150 multiple choice questions are asked. Candidates for the post of Principal are required to provide an additional one hour paper after the general questionnaire, including 50 questions related to school management.
5 years teaching experience is mandatory in the post of Principal. Separate online applications will be taken for both recruiters. Candidates wishing to apply for both posts have the option of selecting both papers in a single online application. The application fee will be paid separately.

The lack of clear instructions for the course is enticing
The lack of clear instructions on the curriculum for the recruitment of headmasters and teachers in subsidized junior high schools seems to have stuck. The syllabus for the appointment of principals and assistant teachers is not mentioned in the guidelines. It has been written that TET leads to higher levels of testing. Knowledge of school management is considered mandatory in the headmaster post. For this, an hour-long test has also been asked, but it is not clear what the course is.

Testing is expected after TET
Written examinations are expected to be held for recruitment to 1894 posts after TET. The TET has twice been sent to the government on behalf of the Office of Testing Regulatory Authority. The second time the proposal was sent out was on March 7, TET’s proposal. But due to the lack of government approval, testing on March 7 is now difficult. The test agency needs time to conduct another test. Competitive students will want to take the recruitment test only after the TET, because those who succeed in the TET will get a chance at the new recruitment.
