The last Test of the four-Test Gavaskar series between India and Australia is taking place at Brisbane’s Gaba Field After skipper Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed after a break, Rishabh Pant came in to bat at number five. Pat Cummins scored two runs in 58.3 overs, scoring 1000 runs in Test cricket. With this, Pant Mahendra Singh Dhoni broke his record. Pant is one of India’s fastest wicketkeeper to score 1000 runs in Test cricket.

Pant hit the number in the 27th innings, while Mahendra Singh Dhoni did it in the 32nd innings. While Farooq is third with 36 innings, Riddhiman Saha is fourth with 37 innings and Nayan Mongia is fifth with 39 innings. Pant has produced two centuries and three fifties. Overall, India’s fastest batsman Vinod Kambli, who has completed 1000 Test runs, has done so in 14 innings.
