VVS Laxman selects his favorite team from India-New Zealand for the World Test Championship final

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the final match of the World Test Championship between India and New Zealand. The final of the Aegis Bowl, which will be played from June 18 to 22, is the eyes of the entire world cricket. New Zealand are currently playing a two-match Test series against England and according to many former cricketers, the Kiwi side will also benefit from the WTC final. However, former India cricketer VVS Laxman has a different view and says India will take the field as a favorite in the final.

WTC Final 2021: These two New Zealand bowlers blew the sleep of India’s batsmen, sending 9 England batsmen to the pavilion

Speaking to Star Sports, Laxman said, “Both teams are doing well, but I think India will start as favorites. Because of India’s performance, the team has not played good cricket for a few years. Instead, it’s a good game in the long run. They have overcome all the challenges and are able to get out of every difficult situation like they did in the Australia series. And the Indian batting team has a lot of talent and depth. But, as I said, this is just one match and I think a team that plays well in the first innings will strengthen their hold on the game.

With the T20 World Cup almost certain to leave India, the ICC may start preparations in the UAE soon

The former India batsman said, ‘If you look at the facts, New Zealand has an advantage because whenever you play in foreign conditions, you definitely want to play at least one match before the crucial match. There is no doubt that this will help them adapt to the conditions. Batsmen in particular take time to adjust to the situation. The Indian team has reached England and is completing its quarantine.
