Amid the border dispute between India and China, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on Tuesday that we are committed to a global order based on rules, territorial integrity, respect for sovereignty and peaceful resolution of disputes. Jaishankar targeted the dragon at the second ministerial meeting of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue or Quad held in Tokyo without naming China.

The focus of the meeting was on ensuring an open and open system for the Indo-Pacific region, where China is steadily increasing its aggression. He also said that the events of this year have shown how it is imperative for like-minded countries to deal with challenges.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in the meeting, “With a vibrant and pluralistic democracy and shared values, our countries have collectively emphasized the importance of a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.” Marise Payne, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also attended.

“We are committed to rule-based international order, law and order, transparent, freedom of navigation across international seas, respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, and peaceful resolution of disputes,” he said. India’s foreign minister, who is about to begin a two-year term as a provisional member of the UN Security Council, said, “The country is hopeful of collective solutions to global challenges, the exit of the world from the epidemic and reform of multilateral institutions.”
