WhatsApp has finally said what the company will do with those who disobey the policy

WhatsApp has issued a quick message platform about users who have not received a new privacy policy. WhatsApp has said the features will not be discontinued in the coming weeks for any user. However, users who have received the new policy will be reminded repeatedly of the update. WhatsApp reports that the company will retain this position until the Personal Data Protection (PDP) Act is implemented in India.

In the past many of us have reported that features will be limited to users who have not received WhatsApp’s new policy until May 15th. Such users will only be able to answer WhatsApp calls, but will not be able to message anyone, the report said. However, it is clear from the company’s new statement that nothing will happen this time.

The government intervened
Recently, the government directed WhatsApp to roll back its new privacy policy, after which a company spokesperson assured that WhatsApp had responded to the government’s letter and that privacy was its priority. The spokesman said in an emailed statement that the company will not limit the facilities it offers on its platform in the coming weeks.

“Instead, we remind users from time to time that we will maintain this position as the upcoming Private Data Protection Act is implemented,” he said. A spokesman reiterated that the latest updates do not change the privacy of people’s personal messages. “The idea is to provide additional information on how people can interact with business units,” he said.
