WTC Final 2021: Virender Sehwag has complete faith in Rohit Sharma’s potential, competition with Trent Boult will be interesting

With just a few days left for the final of the World Test Championships. All cricket fans are eagerly awaiting the final match between India and New Zealand. Both teams have strong batting and bowling attacks, so everyone is expecting the WTC final to be very exciting. Meanwhile, former India cricketer Virender Sehwag is confident Rohit will make a run in his bat final and will find an interesting match between him and Trent Boult.

“There is no doubt that Trent Boult and Tim Southey present a lot of challenges for the Indians,” Sehwag told PTI. He can move the ball either way and is excellent when bowling in partnership. I’d like to see a match between Boult vs. Rohit Sharma. It would be wonderful to see if Rohit stays in the crease and plays Boult’s opening spell. This will be Rohit’s first chance to open the innings under England conditions, though his experience playing the Test in 2014 certainly helps.

Sehwag, one of India’s greatest batsmen in a long form, said: “Rohit is a fantastic batsman and he has played Test cricket before in England (2014), so I think he will deal with the bowlers very well.” There is no doubt that he will run in England this time. Of course, like any opener, he has to be very careful in the first 10 overs and play the new ball to understand the conditions. I’m sure he’ll get a chance to play his shots.
