What’s the new website address
Last week, the IT department said the new portal www.incometaxgov.in would be launched from June 7 to replace the old portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. The order stated that “there will be no work on the old website from June 1 to 6 due to the transfer of information relating to the launch of the new website.” The order clearly states that both taxpayers and officials cannot login to the website during this period.
Taxpayers file individual and business tax returns through this income tax website. It is also intended to be reimbursed by the department. The Income Tax Department will continue to share information such as notice and penalties through this website.
