Thursday: The incident took place in Narsargi village in Mundagodi when two bears attacked a man who was trying to bring a wild cane. He made a selfie video to save his life and send it to the villagers.
Niranjan (35), from Nansargi village, was seriously injured and had searched for his ox at Nansargi forest around 8 am. When the missing oxen were found and returned, they saw a wild horse in the forest, and two bears attacked him when he went to fetch them. A number of bites, including the head and limbs, caused serious injuries.
Niranjan, who was seriously injured but escaped from the bears, is now sitting in the forest.
More than 25 villagers rushed to the forest and searched the area and were treated at the Mundagodu Taluk Hospital.
