Actor Manikuttan became a favorite of Malayalam TV with his debut show ‘Kayankulam Kochunni’. The actor made his acting debut by playing a character named Kochunni in the biography of Kerala’s famous thief.
During his college days, the actor auditioned for a supporting role in the serial, but he was chosen to perform a younger version of the eponymous role. Later, the actor had to stop his studies to focus more on his acting. During the lockdown, the show had resumed and the actor was more excited about it.
“I attended the audition for a supporting role in the serial. I was surprised when Kaiyankulam Cochunni was selected for the role. I was not confident enough to do it. “I have completed 200 plus episodes as a loving thief,” recalled the actor’s turning point in a previous interview with ET-TV.
After the show, Manikuttan made his film debut with ‘Boy Friend’. Later, the actor managed to get some meaty roles in films like ‘Chotta Mumbai’, ‘Positive’, ‘Kurukshetra’ and many more. Recently, he was highly acclaimed for his powerful role Moin in Mammootty’s acting period drama ‘Mamangam’.
Manikuttan, on the other hand, tried their luck in anchoring with the ‘Super Pair’ and ‘Queen Maharani’ programs.
