BMTC has teamed up with Nimhans to treat staff

BangaloreThe Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has partnered with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NIMHANS) to treat neurologically and mentally retarded staff.

BMTC Chairperson Nandisha Reddy and Nimhans Director Gangadhar Guru signed the memorandum of agreement.

The contract is for three years and, if necessary, this period can be extended, renewed.

Other facilities, including the care of the transport staff, the treatment of the sick, the transportation of students to the medical institute, are under contract.

There is still plenty of work to be done on contracts. BMTC Director Dr Arun K said:

Subsidy checks on treatment are ongoing. Priority services are provided to staff. There are also inspections on subsidizing travel for students studying at Nimhans.
