Car sales: Toyota and Ford performed spectacularly in June, with growth of over 1100%

June is great for car maker companies. Vehicle sales increased as the number of corona cases decreased nationwide. Total sales for June stood at 2.55 lakh units, compared to 1.03 lakh units in May 2021. This is an increase of 119% annually and 148% monthly. Not only that, but companies like Toyota and Ford made a big difference in June. When it comes to car sales, Toyota saw growth of 1144 monthly and Ford 544 percent.

Here are the top 5 companies
As usual, Maruti Suzuki was the top selling company in June. In June 2021, Maruti Suzuki sold 124,280 vehicles. This is 277 per cent higher than May (32,903 units). Most of Maruti’s vehicles were Alto, S-Presso, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, and Baleno. Hyundai came in second with 40,496 units in June. Hyundai posted 62 per cent growth (25,001 units) in May.

Tata Motors came in third with 24,111 units. Tata Motors sold 15,181 vehicles in May. Mahindra was fourth with 16,913 units in June and fifth in May. Mahindra posted monthly (MoM) growth of 111%. Kia Motors is fifth with 15,015 units.

Toyota and Ford did wonders
Toyota was ranked 13th in May and 6th in June. It sold 8,798 units in June. What’s special is that in May alone, 707 Toyota vehicles were sold. This means the company has achieved a total monthly growth of 1144%. In June, Renault ranked seventh with 6,100 units. At the same time, Ford was eighth, which was 11th in May. Ford sold 4,936 units in June, an increase of 544% monthly.
