Corona: WHO praised the country, said – India should be proud

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday praised the efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The WHO said there has been a steady decline in the number of infections in the country. WHO’s India Representative Roderico Afrin told the news agency ANI: “For more than three months, the number of Covid-19 cases has been steadily decreasing in India.

“We have seen their hard work, discipline and enthusiasm in response to the vaccination campaign. It has been very successful. Over six million vaccines were delivered in 22 days. We are looking at the vaccination rate, which is very fast.”

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India on Thursday reported a total of 12,923 cases of Kovid-19 in the last 24 hours, reaching a total of 10,871,294 cases. In the last 24 hours, 1,55,360 people have died in India with 108 deaths. The government says the number of Covid-19 cases is declining daily, from the peak reported in mid-September 2020. India has immunized more than 7 million people since the program launched on January 16, the world’s largest vaccine campaign against Kovid-19.

Foren said some soothing words about Gujarat. “The Gujarat government has done a good job of checking the epidemic and for better response, especially during the second wave,” he said.

This is not the first time WHO has praised India. On February 6, the WHO stated that the country had increased significantly in terms of improving the Kovid-19. WHO Director-General Tedros Ethanam said, “If we can do these simple public health solutions, we can defeat the virus. We expect even better results by adding vaccines.”

Last month, Tedros thanked India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their continued support in the global Kovid-19 war. Tedros said, “India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi thank you for your continued support in the global Kovid-19 war. Only by working together can we stop this virus and save lives and livelihoods.”
