Joffra Archer, who performed well in the first Test, took 3 wickets including Rohit Sharma’s first innings. Archer did not allow Indian batsmen to play in public. Along with Archer, James Anderson also bowled amazingly, taking three crucial wickets in the second innings. Spin bowler Dominic Bess took 4 wickets in the first innings and Jack Leach 4 wickets in the second inning. Captain Joe Root had a double century in his 100th Test, batting spectacularly, helping England score 578 in the first innings.

England have to play four Tests, five T20s and three ODIs on their tour of India. The England squad for the five-match T20 series has been announced.
