Dasara Gajapade in strict Quarantine! – Indian News Live

Mysore: Ambari-bearing elephants were placed in quarantine this time around due to fears of coronavirus infection.

Elephants’ weights are not taken outside. The forest department has also abandoned certain procedures and has issued strict rules for elephants, mahouts and kavadis to go on vacations.

The Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) J Alexander is on high alert in the wake of the growing coronavirus. The elephants said they were already weighing in when they left Veeranhosahalli in Hunsur.

In the meantime, 19 people, including forest guards, mawadis, paramedics and elephants in charge of the Mysore palace, who had arrived at the Mysore palace with the Dasara Gazette, were tested on Saturday and the results were all negative.
