A bit late to the party but here’s my take, I’ve got a hell of a lot of hours. Many people have more, but I’m a very good survivor, and I want to talk about a couple of things. Chases and Gen Completion mostly.

Gen Completion

Rarely will you run into someone who actively tries to avoid a 3-gen in solo queue(when the gens are so close the last one can’t be popped). If two gens have been done one one side of the map, DONT do the third. You will die, Just keep track of completed gens and go to the other side.

Looping

A lot of people misunderstand this term. Pallet looping is not looping. If you can only pallet loop, you are not a good survivor, Looping is about forcing the killer to travel as much distance as possible in order to chase you. For instance, at a pallet gym, let’s say you see the killer moonwalk. As a survivor, your job is to avoid 50/50 guesses as to which direction the killer will go at all costs. So, the moment you see him moonwalk, leave the gym. Instantly go the other way and you will make it to another area nearly every time. Any time the killer does not have line of sight, you can make distance if you are quick on your feet.

Looping efficiency is something to note. Cut corners as close as possible. The killer has a large hitbox and you can run it better as a 3rd person. If, for example, you are running the loop 5% more efficiently than the killer, the killer’s movement speed has essentially been cut down to 110%(or 105%), Learn the jungle gym loops! There are tutorials on Youtube and players who can teach you these loops. They are incredibly powerful.

Be aware of what you are going to do if a killer finds you at any point. The nearest pallet, window, etc. never run without a plan, Keep calm. Remember not to prevault killer shack window, ALWAYS keep eyes on the killer. If you run right into them because you were staring straight ahead you are doing something wrong. know the matchup. Don’t loop clown/demo/slinger at a T wall! Don’t cleanse against plague. Don’t get caught out against billy. Don’t run god loops against trapper.

If you blocked off a window and are healthy, try a window juke(running through the killer while they vault). Pallet conservation is key. Never drop a pallet after getting hit. If they can hit you, you have a huge distance advantage and don’t need the pallet. Always keep moving! People sit and wait for killers at loops when they could have gone further to another obstacle and looped back around to the pallet. Remember that distance travelled by the killer is a top priority.

Vaulting a window before the killer gets a vision of you(prevault) will work nearly every time unless you are in the shack. Unless they are rank 1 and you have done it a few times, you will usually win that 50/50. If you have already dropped a pallet safely for the first pallet of a chase, this gives the killer the impression you will continue to do so. I have never done this and not had the killer back up the second time, allowing me to run around the loop again.
