Similarly, people who already have a driving license have to go through a safety certificate course if they have already violated any traffic rules. Such drivers are required to complete a refresher course in three months. Also, their driver’s license (DL) is linked to the Aadhaar card to track drivers who have completed the course.

Let me tell you, the Ministry of Road Transport is getting tougher on those who drive bikes without a helmet. According to information, the ministry has set an Oct. 31 deadline with local police to arrange for motorists to share sightings of motorists crossing the toll plaza without wearing a helmet. Therefore such drivers who violate traffic rules can be identified and their challan can be cut.

According to the report, about 44,666 two-wheelers were tragically killed in 2019 road accidents last year, the most notable being that 80% of those involved in these accidents did not wear a helmet.

The media has mentioned that online video tutorials for new driving licenses and detailed protocols for safety certification courses for existing driving license holders will be added to the new central motor vehicle rules in the next few weeks.
