England have announced a three-match ODI series against Pakistan. His 16-man squad in England has not changed. The series will start in Cardiff starting July 8. England all-rounders Ben Stokes and Joffra Archer are not included in the ODI series. Both are struggling with finger and elbow injuries. Jose Butler has not been included in the ODI series.
Jose Butler was injured in the T20 series against Sri Lanka. Following this, he was eliminated from the last two games of the T20 series. England have joined Tom Benton for the final match of the three-match series against Sri Lanka. David Malan does not play in this game. The 22-year-old has played 6 ODIs and 9 internationals for England. He made his big debut at Somerset earlier in the week, scoring a stunning century in the T20 Blast 2021 tournament in England. Benton scored an unbeaten 107 off 51 balls.
George Gorton, the success bowler for the series against Pakistan, has been retained. He was added to the squad for the first time in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. The first ODI between England and Pakistan will be played in Cardiff on July 8. The second ODI will be played at Lord’s on July 10, while the third and final one-dayer will be played in Birmingham on July 13. The T20 series will be played from July 16 onwards. The team has yet to be announced.
