The reason behind this is that through the software, if there is a problem in the EPF account of any person of any company, the interest of the people of that entire company cannot be credited to their accounts. According to a senior official involved in the case, the work on software changes continues in the war phase. Interest amounts are also expected to reach survivors’ accounts over the next 15-20 days.

The official said any delay from the notification period due to technical difficulties will go to the accounts with the interest of the people. Prior to the start of the new year, the central government had announced the payment of EPF interest for fiscal year 2019-20 on December 31, 2020 in People’s Account.

Labor and Employment Minister Santosh Gangwar announced that 8.5 per cent full interest would be paid to the people simultaneously. Previously, the government was preparing to give this amount in two parts. Its first 8.15 per cent reached accounts by Diwali last year. The remaining 0.35% was due in December.
