Even cancer patients are recovering from Kovid-19 without any trouble!

Bangalore: Many cancer patients in the state who have been infected with corona are experiencing recovery from infection with no complications.

For the past two months, Fortis Hospital’s cancer specialists have been discussing the treatment of coronally infected cancer patients. Forty-four cancer patients are currently infected at Fortis Hospital, of which three are over the age of 50 and one is 35 years old.

We have discussed many issues, including treating infected cancer patients. We have also had discussions about modifying chemotherapy. However, even after the chemotherapy was continued for the infected, the medical report found that patients with non-cancer were recovering from the infection, said Fortis Hospital physician Vivek Beltoor

Every patient has a different type of cancer. Lung Cancer, Lymphoma, Breast Cancer and Bowel Cancer. Both chemotherapy and Covid-19 were known to cause worsening of the patient’s condition. Immunity is low in cancer patients. Even cancer patients who are infected are recovering from infection as normal. Having said that, recovery is good even when immunity is low.

A similar discussion was also held by cancer specialists at Vikram Hospital. Dr Niti Raizada Awaku of Vikram Hospital said that there was discussion on whether intravenous therapy should be changed to oral chemo and once or twice a week.

However, there have been developments in cancer patients recovering from infections, just like the common ones. “Studies have shown that immunotherapy for coronary artery cancer patients has yielded good results, however, we have stopped using bone marrow trans’plant therapy. Now we will restart again.
