Farmers, who are against the Center’s new agrarian laws, on Friday called for a toll collection on the highways of Haryana, at the call of the Indian Kisan Union, making them toll-free.
According to officials, toll collection has been stopped at midnight or Friday morning at many toll plazas in the state. In many places, farmers took toll plazas and did not allow the authorities to collect toll tax from the people. In the wake of the protests in some places, toll employees stopped collecting toll tax on their own and allowed them to pay for the vehicles at no charge.
The Indian Kisan Union (BKU) said a few days ago that the toll tax would not be allowed from December 25 to 27 at the toll booth in Haryana. Farmers have completely stopped collecting tolls at the NH-44 toll plaza in Bastar, Karnal. He has also stopped the toll collection on the Karnal-Jind Highway, the Dobwali Toll Plaza in the Sirsa district and Makrauli Kala on the Rohtak-Panipat Highway. However, toll charges have been levied at Gurkeram’s Kherki Daula Toll Plaza Friday morning.

It is noted that the central government is introducing three new agricultural laws passed in September as major reforms in agriculture, but protesting farmers are worried that the new laws will end the MSP (minimum support price) and kneeling system. And they rely on big corporate houses.
Explain that farmers have recently enacted three new agricultural laws – the Producers Trade and Trade (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Price Guarantee and Agricultural Services Act, and the 2020 Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act.
