Former governor Urjit Patel, who resigned from the RBI, will be additional director at Britannia

According to the company, Drs. Urjit Patel meets the provisions of the Companies Act 2013 and the Standards of Standards under SEBI (LODR) Regulations 2015. Earlier, Urjit Patel was the governor of RBI.

His four-year tenure as RBI Governor began in September 2016 but he resigned from his post in December 2018 due to personal reasons. The demonetization decision was taken when Urjit Patel was the RBI governor.
