Mangalore: Dakshina Kannada district caretaker minister Kota Srinivasa Poojari said the Yakshagana fairs should adopt the Kovid 19 rules and prepare them for the show by the end of November.

Dakshina Kannada district has more than 20 professional tekkuttuksha yakshagana fairs, including Ketelu, Bappanadu, Sasihitlu and more than one thousand artists and ancillary workers. Artists are in hardship because of the coronation of the coronation. Dakshina Kannada District Minister in charge Kota Srinivasa Poojary instructed the officials, artists and managers of the fairs to adopt the Kovid 19 rules and prepare them for the end of November.

On behalf of the artists, Bhagwat Patel Satish Shetty, Sarpadi Ashok Shetty, Ujire Ashok Bhatt, Rajyotsava Award winning comedian Sitaram Kumar, said that professional performances can be a life threatening event. Already, Kovid has requested the government to help the family of artists with the 19th anniversary.

Shri Hari Asarna, the governing body of the Kateel Devas, said that the six ensembles of Kateel are set to go on display at the scheduled time. Many people, including the Bappanadu and Sasihitlu fairs, explained the problems of artists and professional festivals during the Corona.

In the event of any of the existing fairs, it was decided at the meeting that the department should check the creation of additional fairs through the Deva, a resource within the purview of the religious charity.

Speaking on behalf of the government, the district caretaker minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary said the government would support the artistes so as not to disturb even the last artist of Yakshagana fairs. Dr. Rajendra, Dakshina Kannada District Collector and Assistant Commissioner of Religious Endowment Department were present at the meeting.
