Cryptocurrencies (a kind of digital cash system) are becoming quite popular these days. Many people are investing in cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and some people want to know about it. Fraudsters want to take advantage of this interest of people to defraud people in the name of crypto currency. Recently, some such dangerous smartphone apps have come to the fore. Google has banned 8 such apps in the name of crypto currency.
According to a report by security firm Trend Micro, the investigation found that 8 risky apps were cheating users by displaying ads and offering a subscription service (an average of Rs 1100 per month) and additional fees. Trend Micro notified Google Play about this and then removed those apps from the Play Store. However, these apps may still work on your phone even after being removed from the Play Store.

The report states that more than 120 fake cryptocurrency apps are still available online. The company blogs, “In the name of cryptocurrency mining, these apps show ads in the app to deceive people. These apps have affected over 4500 users worldwide from July 2020 to July 2021.” Before downloading any such app, please read its reviews.
